A Dark Winter in a Lost Year (2021 Creative Fusion - Thomas Flippin)

"A Dark Winter in a Lost Year" was written in response to events that shaped the past year, reflecting the weight of the pandemic, the racial injustice of George Floyd’s murder, and the disruption of education due to remote learning. The composition features recordings and narration of text from Americans impacted by COVID-19, collected by composer Thomas Flippin. This video features Duo Noire (of which the composer is a member) with two members of The Cleveland Orchestra.

"A Dark Winter in a Lost Year" se escribió en respuesta a dos eventos que acaecieron en 2020, la injusticia racial del asesinato de George Floyd y la pandemia que devino en la interrupción de la educación. La composición presenta grabaciones y narraciones de textos de estadounidenses afectados por el COVID-19, recopilados por el compositor Thomas Flippin. Este video presenta al Duo Noire (del cual el compositor es miembro) junto a dos miembros de The Cleveland Orchestra.
