The Battle of Ukraine - A Campaign Evaluation

The Russian invasion of Ukraine initiated the most significant war in Europe since World War Two, and the largest Russian military operation since that conflict. In a colossal struggle, two army group equivalents have engaged each other in bloody, brutal, high intensity war, one fought on the streets of Ukraine's towns, cities and villages. Despite a widely held belief that the Ukrainian Armed Forces would only last a few weeks the Russian offensive has largely been defeated. In this informal discussion, some of the probable causes for the Ukrainian defensive victory are explored, all within the context of the Russian and Ukrainian strategies for the prosecution of the conflict. It must be stressed that this is simply a preliminary discussion, and the analysis given in this video is subject to change if, when more detailed information emerges at a later date, our understanding of the war changes in some fundamental way.
