Solving and Graphing Linear Inequalities | Interval Notation & Compound Inequalities

In this video, we solve and graph linear inequalities step by step. We work through six examples to build confidence with solving inequalities using inverse operations.

You’ll learn how to graph solutions on a number line, including when to use an open circle versus a closed circle. We also show how to write solutions using interval notation and set notation, and explain the difference between parentheses and brackets.

Finally, we cover compound inequalities, including both “and” and “or” cases, and how to graph their solutions correctly.

This tutorial is perfect for students learning:

solving linear inequalities
graphing inequalities on a number line
interval notation and set notation
open vs closed circles
compound inequalities (and/or)

By the end of this video, you’ll be able to confidently solve, graph, and write solutions to linear inequalities.
