Quick Fix Inflatable repair using a hot glue gun instead of a vinyl patch kit

I have found that using a hot glue gun works better to repair inflatables than the typical vinyl repair kit. You can do this while the inflatable is filled but it's more difficult if it's a gash, or large hole. It might not hold, but can extend the life of these toys and get a few more uses out if them.

1) Obviously the first trick is to find the hole and put an X on it with a good marker.

2) Next you want to get a hot glue gun regular size or mini size with some glue sticks, $5-10.

3) You can scratch the area up with sandpaper to get a better hold. But, this vinyl is so thin only use a cery light sandpaper like #150 to #1500

4) Clean the area to be patched with rubbing alcohol- which is flammable.

5) Put a small amount of hot glue about the size of a dime or quarter on top of the hole and carefully place the packing tape on top of that and press it down. Wait about 5 minutes until the glue has completely cooled off and set.

6) Fill your inflatable up, hopefully using a inflator with a car adapter, to test before you get out on the water.

7) Find any other holes and repeat as needed.
