Bill Livingstone joins Shotts in an Old School Set

A second set from RIse, Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band's Worlds' Week Concert given in Glasgow's Royal Concert Hall on 9 August 2017. The 'Worlds week concert' is an annual event organised by The Glasgow Skye Association.

Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band were Grade One World Champions in 2015. The band's Pipe Major is Ryan Canning and the Lead Drummer is Andrew Lawson.

The band is joined by Bill Livingstone, the band's special guest for the evening. Bill Livingstone is a distinguished pipe major (of the 78th Fraser Highlanders until 2010), piper, composer and writer, and an inspiration to many in the pipe band world. He launched his memoirs the week before this concert - Preposterous - Tales to Follow.

This Old School Set was a substantial, demanding and very skilfully compiled grouping of twelve tunes mostly composed in the 1990s, or traditional.
