Sarah Whiting | On Architecture Theory

In this short interview taken during the International Conference on Architectural Design and Criticism organized at the ETSAM (Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid), architect and educator Sarah Whiting talks about the relevance of architecture theory today, the need to define the architectural project and the acknowledgment of the different national contexts when dealing with global approaches. Regarding architecture education, she emphasizes that students should work on speculative projects within "a future that is not very far away, a near future, as opposed to something that is so unreal that it is untethered from reality, it doesn’t have the constraints or resistance to keep you pushing."
