Srimanta Sankardev Abirbhab Kshetra, often referred to as Batadrava Than or Bordowa Than, is the sacred birthplace of the 15th-century Assamese polymath, saint-scholar, and social-religious reformer, Mahapurush Srimanta Sank
ardev. Situated in the Nagaon district of Assam, it is considered the most sacred site for Assamese Vaishnavites and serves as the epicenter of Ekasarana Dharma.
Historical Significance
Birthplace: Srimanta Sankardev was born here in 1449 CE.
Foundation of Faith: Sankardev established the first-ever Kirtan Ghar (prayer house) at Bordowa (Batadrava) in 1494 A.D. to preach his Neo-Vaishnavite faith, which centered on devotion to Lord Krishna.
