AOC can’t say it, but put simply, Joe Manchin is being a complete asshole. He’s single-handedly ruining democracy, refusing to vote with his party to bolster federal voting rights. He says that any bill has to be agreed upon by both parties, which is completely deranged. Republicans really, really, REALLY do not want stronger civil rights laws. It will hurt them electorally.
Manchin isn’t taking a stand for bipartisanship. He’s been bought. And that’s what AOC ends up saying in a roundabout way — “corporate money has a very, very tight grip on both parties.”
