Multiple vehicle accident causes powerline down caused by DUI

I was following a multiple-vehicle accident at 11:00 pm on May 17 the red truck collided with a power pole causing a couple of powerlines to fall everybody was OK just minor injuries he is under investigation on how it was caused
Stew Dyer did this article CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Noel Gomez, 25, appeared before the Laramie County Circuit Court on May 21. He faces charges of felony aggravated assault, felony property destruction, DUI, possession of a controlled substance and driving with expired registration. The court set his bond at $5,000 for the felonies and $1,000 for the misdemeanors. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 29.
On May 17 at 10:30 p.m., Officer Peterson responded to a crash at North College Drive and Carla Drive The incident involved downed power lines and a rolled vehicle. Upon arrival, Officer Peterson and Officer Bray found Gomez, who smelled of alcohol and had slurred speech.
When taken to the hospital for medical clearance and a blood draw, Gomez is reported to have told a nurse, “Someone tried to cut me off and I wasn’t gonna stop, like the thing cops do,” and he began to explain a pit maneuver. He then stated, “I wasn’t gonna let him cut me off.” Gomez was going approximately 50–55 mph in the posted 40 mph zone when he intentionally collided with the other vehicle, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
The driver of the other vehicle sustained severe injuries. He had a 10-centimeter head laceration requiring emergency surgery and a blood transfusion. The next day, the driver was transferred to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, Colorado, for neurosurgery due to a vertebra fracture.
During the investigation, officers discovered significant property damage. The collision caused $5,000 damage to a fence, an estimated $10,000 to the other vehicle, $15,000 to a fence and shed and $35,000 to power poles and a power box.
Officers found Gomez was driving with expired registration, a THC vape pen and an open alcoholic container in his vehicle, according to booking sheets. Gomez’s next court appearance is on May 29, where probable cause for the felonies will be reviewed. He faces a possible 20 years in prison on the felony charges.
