Painted Bass Drum Heads of the 1920s & 30s - Next Level Chops Special
Here we have our UK/US Vintage Drum Special' featuring 'Drum Art' of the 1920's and 30's. Sticky Wicket recounts the story as to how and why painted bass drum heads came about and shows some of his collection painted mostly in the UK on British drums. We also link up with our friend Timothy Northup 'Northup Drums' in NY, USA who shows us and talks about some of the most beautiful drum heads ever painted and produced in the Leedy and Ludwig factories of the period. Sticky then has some fun playing his wonderfully painted Premier bass drum together with Carlton and Ajax drums. These were some of the finest English drums of the 1930’s and all set off in his Ajax Console with all the traps!! We hope you enjoy this special edition.
Thanks so much for watching,
