Inspired by the dark, gritty, mystical, and otherworldly lo-fi atmosphere of Memphis Rap music, Jookin' brings that classic 90's gangsta Memphis aesthetic to the top, with horrorcore-like elements, cheap drum machine beats, and repeating vocal hooks that references and simulates that authentic Memphis Rap feel.

Jookin' celebrates the 90's hip-hop scene of Memphis, being the originators of Crunk, Trap, and Phonk, and it's namesake being one of the most significant and unique street dances to come out from Memphis that shapes one of it's diverse cultures as a whole.

I've been very intrested in Memphis Rap (or Phonk) lately... yk what they say, when you love something very much, turn it into a mod 👀👀 (oh yea the vhs part/intro references the memphis rap sigil conspiracy)
