This Old Pumping Station Was Left Behind & Forgotten

Built in the 19th century, this pumping station once helped supply water during Sheffield’s industrial expansion.

By the early 1900s, as larger and more advanced systems took over, smaller stations like this were no longer needed and gradually left behind.

Today, it stands almost alone, a reminder of a system that moved on without it.
