The ryobi is designed for the non-trade type, household use. That being said i have seen alot of tradesmen using ryobi gear, and all very happy with it including myself.

My work tools however are Makita by choice, slightly more power, more durable etc.

This Ryobi Kit comes with a 4.0ah batter, and a 1.5 ah battery. This just gives you longer run times. My Makita im using for the video is using the 3.0 ah batteries that came with the kit.

Overall the makita feels like its got about 20% more power than the ryobi, but i suppose thats normal you pay a lot more for it. Ryobi certainly has more tools available to buy however for its battery system. They still lead the way in range of cordless tools, not necessarily the best, but they have just about every tool in a cordless 18v version.
