SwiftConf '16: @ZeyadSalloum — Flexible Layout Kit: JSON to native iOS

Content is King! At Zalando, our content is changing every day. Fashion trends come and go and new items enter our warehouses every day. Discounts happen over night and every so often we want to present a new feature on a landing page. On websites these changes can be pushed to the public within seconds. But with Native apps we have release cycles measured in weeks or at least days. In this talk, I’ll cover how we tackled this problem at Zalando by creating a framework we call Flexible Layout Kit. Flexible Layout Kit is a layout engine that translates JSON content into native iOS interfaces. it’s made up of a collection of elements that can be contained inside each other to form amazing native UI. PS: Flexible Layout Kit is written exclusively in Swift!
