Ray Dalio - Creating a Culture Where the Best Ideas Win Out
At the onset of his career, Ray Dalio began writing down his principles for running his then small business, Bridgewater Associates, which went on to become the world's largest hedge fund. Those principles evolved into the firm's distinctive culture, an "idea meritocracy that strives to achieve meaningful work and meaningful relationships through radical truth and radical transparency." When this internal document was turned into a public PDF in 2011, the principles were downloaded more than 3 million times. Eventually, they made their way to the focus of Dalio's bestselling book, which not only outlines his life and work principles, but also the personal and professional history that led him to develop these principles - warts and all - making it one of the most authentic portraits of how a brilliant financial mind works. In this talk, Dalio will discuss these principles, and how the've contributed to Bridgewater's having made more money for investors since inception than any other hedge fund, according to LCH Investments.
