First of all I need to say thank you to Basecamp Ouray for this incredible guided tour through the new Via Ferrata in Ouray, Colorado.

This course is free and open to the public, and we definitely have the technical skills to be able to do something like this without a guide, but Spence, our guide, really elevated our experience.

The tour included all of the equipment which was a huge benefit for us.

Growing up in Ouray, I always thought there was more we could do to capitalize on the mountain adventures all around us, and I am proud to know several of the people responsible for putting this project together. I've even heard talk of a second one being installed for the next season... shhh.....

If you haven't been to Ouray or the San Juan Mountains, you are missing out on what may be the most beautiful part of our entire nation. I encourage you to take a trip there ASAP as it's becoming known as Colorado's Adventure Capital!
