1992 Pacific Hurricane Season Animation v.2

The 1992 Pacific Hurricane Season was the most active Pacific hurricane season in terms of named storms recorded and was the second costliest season as well, just behind the 2013 season. The season saw a record 27 storms, alongside 16 hurricanes, 10 major hurricanes and one category 5 hurricane. The season started with a bang with Hurricane Ekeka in January reaching category 3 hurricane status. The Eastern Pacific season remained strong with 4 major hurricanes before the month of August. August was rather weak compared to June and July, the month saw no hurricanes intensifying to major hurricane status. September saw major tropical cyclone activity with Hurricane Orlene reaching Category 5 status (F13 Analysis), Hurricane Iniki ravaging Kauaʻi Island and becoming the second costliest storm in the basin, and Hurricane Tina becoming extremely erratic and long lived, almost living up to a month. October saw Hurricane Virgil and Hurricane Winifred striking Mexico in the span of only a few days. The season concluded with the dissipation of Tropical Storm Zeke in October.
