SS Strike back was a ship that sank in 1972. She carried 1291 people, and had 21 life boats. She was in service for 13 years before she sank. On her 454th trip, she was heading from Orlando, to Rotterdam. 16 hours into the trip, a monstrous iceberg put a 25 ft long hole into the ship's keel. In just 5 minutes, all of the storage rooms, and boiler rooms flooded, causing the ship to sink faster. The 46 out of the 52 coal workers survived due to the speed of the flooding. 1 hour into the sinking, the bow was flooding. Past this point, everyone was aware of the ship sinking. 6 of the lifeboats were launched, and each carried 57 people.

Deck A, B, and C were all flooded, and the upper deck was now flooding. The captain headed to the bridge to accept his fate. He passed when the bridge was 9 feet under water, because the first funnel fell on the bridge. The waves of the ocean were making the ship sway back and forth. An hour and a half into the sinking, all of the lifeboats were launched. The second funnel then exploded, causing 12 people to fly into the air. 3 of those people passed from the impact. Every passenger still on board is now on the stern. The ship is almost vertical, and the 3rd and 4th funnel fall at the same time, making the entire ship vibrate. The ship began the final plunge, but then it stopped all of the sudden. The tip of the ship had touched the bottom of the ocean. The bow was buried almost 6 feet into the stone from the collision. The ship was then falling backwards which made people lose their grip on the rails. The stern crushed 2 lifeboats when it fell. Unfortunately, only 267 people survived, (51 injured) and 1024 people went with the ship. Almost 3 hours later, a fleet of rescue ships came and collected everyone. It was 1:35 AM when the ships came, and then at 9:55 AM the next morning, they arrived at Rotterdam. When the ship was wrecked, in 2014 they found out it was 92 miles away from the wreck of the R.M.S Titanic thank sank in 1912.
