Ukrainian soldiers retake territory north of Kyiv from Russians

UKRAINIAN soldiers retake a formerly Russian occupied territory north of Kyiv.

Reuters journalists who entered the area between Irpin and Hostomel saw Ukrainian troops patrolling an abandoned ghost village of ruined buildings, with corpses of Russian soldiers lying in the nearby fields and on the road leading to the village.

"Cannon fodder! Honestly, all of them (the dead bodies) they are just kids, lying around, they are like cannon fodder that was sent here," Aleksander, 34-year-old Ukrainian soldier said of the dead Russians.

The soldiers patrolling the village searched nearby fields and houses for guns, ammunition, missile launchers and other military equipment abandoned by the fleeing Russian troops.
