Going Home from the Hospital - Video 4

In this video, we outline the discharge process of your hospital stay.

Your doctor will assure that all of your needs are met in time to get you home on your scheduled day. Let your nurse know at what time you will be ready to leave, so they can prepare your discharge papers early. Plan to be discharged between 10 am and noon.

Make sure that all of your belongings are packed and ready to go. Check the room and closet for any items that may have been left behind.

You will be given final instructions about your medications, wound care, diet, activity and return office visit appointment before you are released. Make sure to ask questions if any of the instructions are not clear to you.
