Microsoft Copilot (Microsoft 365): Copilot inference and evaluation policy for Copilot in Teams meetings
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=&searchterms=411568
In this week's update, I talk about the busy slate of Copilot-related news, with every major topic focusing on Microsoft's advancements in AI. Excitingly, there's an upcoming Microsoft 365 Copilot Wave 2 announcement happening on September 16th, which promises to bring updates—though the details are still shrouded in mystery. I hope we see some long-anticipated developer extension features like declarative copilots moving to public preview, but we'll have to wait and see!
We also dive into some technical AI advancements, including a great blog post by Jamie Maguire on running Microsoft's small language model, the "Phi3" model, which is worth checking out if you're into AI development. Additionally, I explore a blog post on using Copilot in the new Microsoft Loop to plan events and touch on the overlapping capabilities of Copilot across Loop, Word, and Excel, pondering how Microsoft will differentiate where users should go for specific use cases.
Finally, I discovered a new and quite granular IT admin policy, allowing people to block Copilot from making inferences or evaluating emotional cues in Teams meetings.
Catch up on all the exciting details in this week's update!
