In this video, I talk about a couple of ancient 1980s text-mode word processors and then demo a great modern one that’s still being updated. Wordgrinder is an open-source, actively-developed text mode word processor that runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux, even in a remote terminal window.

It’s all you need to write a memo, report, or even a book, and it’s not only distraction-free, it’s totally free.

Wordgrinder can be installed in Ubuntu with the command “sudo apt install wordgrinder” or from other operating system by downloading from http://cowlark.com
