South Korean submarine to join Royal Canadian Navy for exercises in 2026

The Canadian federal government expects to award a new contract to build up to a dozen new submarines for the Royal Canadian Navy by 2028, with a delivery of the first sub no later than 2035. A submarine from South Korea is going to join the Canadian Navy for exercises off B.C. in mid 2026 as the country looks to secure the contract to replace Canada's aging fleet of subs.
