Gamyrc Baby Fat Girl chassis Orlandoo Hunter quick bash test. lots of brass!
This is a very fun little 3D printed 90mm rock bouncer/crawler designed by Gamyrc for use with Orlandoo Hunter parts and sold on shapeways. strong but flexible black plastic.
My original build of it used old Losi trail trekker worm gear driven axles with really long custom suspension links and RC4WD mud slinger tires on the original Losi trail trekker wheels, which together made it really slow, but, it crawled over everything in its path like a spider and would climb at very steep angles. (I will build another eventually with those axles and custom links from the original build)...
All of the brass parts I have been making myself with hardware store or hobby store brass to further enhance the traction and climbing performance while using the design intended Orlandoo Hunter drivetrain parts. Due to the seriously lightweight chassis and plastic parts it did not perform very well at first. adding brass as low as possible has definitely improved it significantly. I will be doing more with this project to improve the performance.
Parts list as of right now (Nov 23 2022);
Gamyrc Baby Fat Girl 3d printed 90mm chassis from shapeways, Orlandoo Hunter OH32X01 drivetrain, modified N20 motor with old airhogs glider motor armature, metal Orlandoo Hunter dual rate shocks with the upper springs removed, Orlandoo Hunter ESC, Redcat Racing rcr-2ce receiver and transmitter (flysky FS-GT2E), DIY 2S battery (roof crate), Orlandoo Hunter OH32X01 18mm plastic wheels, Orlandoo Hunter OH32X01 33mm tires (cut rears), Orlandoo Hunter OH32X01 front tire foams, Losi micro-t rear tire foams, Flash hobby FH-2502 nano servo. brass tubing sleeves over Orlandoo Hunter OH32X01 links, custom brass sheet driveshaft skid plates, custom brass front axle sleeve weights from brass couplers from Lowes, custom brass inner wheel weights from 1/2 inch inner diameter hose fitting from Lowes, (custom servo mounted brass bash bar testing, not for this chassis.)
Thank you all for watching my videos and I hope to continue this hobby with these micro RC vehicles as I find them as interesting as trivial. Orlandoo Hunter has made it possible to build some very cool micro rc vehicles which I wanted to do most of my life starting as a child building 1/25 scale static model kits some 35+ years ago.
I use many different techniques from just about everything I've ever done from auto mechanics to electronics tech to construction to anything hobby related.
I enjoy diy stuff and as for RC vehicles I prefer kits that I have to build myself more than rtr out of a mass production line.
Handmade is art no matter if it's beautiful or something functionally ugly.
