YR4 Asteroid Was Headed for Earth, Now the Moon Is Target

Asteroids are flying past us all the time but sometimes, one gets a little too close for comfort. In 2024, astronomers spotted YR4, a city-killer asteroid big enough to level a major metropolis. Early calculations showed it had a real chance of hitting Earth. Then, the threat shifted. Now, we know it won't hit us but it might be headed for the Moon instead.
