Preparing for brownouts in the Philippines

Do you have any tips for dealing with brownouts?

As we get deeper into rainy season, power outages will become more frequent and we need to be ready.

In this video I talk about:

- Lighting

- Cooling

- Internet / Communications

Nearly everything used in this video has lithium-ion batteries and is rechargable by USB.

You can get a genuine 20,000 mAh battery from Romoss or Pineng for around P750. Just be sure to go to their OFFICIAL stores on Lazada/ Shopee because there are a lot of clones and fakes.

Many of the rechargable fans and lights being sold in the major hardware stores are using low quality 6V or 12V lead-acid batteries that don't last long before needing to be replaced.

For light loads like routers, you can actually buy a DC UPS which uses 18650 batteries. But for heavier loads, lead-acid is really still the only practical option for most peoples budget.

In this video I showed a couple of UPS from APC, one of the most respected brands. Bonus points for manufacturing in the PHILIPPINES!
