‘It’s pretty shameless’: WA Labor MP hands out free Bluey merchandise
A Labor MP in Western Australia has offered his constituents free merch if they like his Facebook page.
The Australian’s Associate Editor Jenna Clarke says Terry Healy is spruiking free Hammerbarn gnomes for likes on his Facebook page.
“When you’re a backbencher, you need to do everything you can to get either your constituents to like you or the media,” she told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.
“In 2021, the Western Australian election was a complete wipeout. We only now have two ... Opposition MPs in the lower house in WA.
“So, Labor backbenchers got a lot of time on their hands.
“It’s pretty shameless.”
