"I was hired to copy your product" | Hot Weights EP 4

Shub and Mateo recap MCP Dev Summit and AI news, and the running theme is convergence. Thirty companies in one room, all building the same MCP gateway primitive (gateway + tool registry + auth + governance). One of them walked up and admitted he'd been hired specifically to copy Arcade's product. The tools, he said, were easy because they came straight off the Arcade GitHub repo. The OAuth layer is where he got stuck.

From there the episode hits the Claude Mythos sandbox-escape story (is it really a sandbox if the model can email its researchers?), Anthropic restricting third-party agent harnesses on Pro/Max plans, the Claude Code source-code leak and the resulting auth churn, Karpathy and Chamath's persistent-memory question and why it isn't a RAG/knowledge-graph problem, the ship-of-Theseus problem for compacted long-running agents, why workload identity beats agentic identity for most enterprise workflows, the rumored $100M-per-company access fee for Claude Mythos, and how distillation (Cursor's Composer on Kimi) keeps model-baked behavior from being defensible.
