I remember watching Van Helsing for the first time late at night on cable. I was not even planning to sit through the whole movie, but I couldn't help myself. It is one of those movies people remember in pieces. For me, it’s the weird Mr. Hyde CGI! Oh and obviously, Dracula! The funny part is, over time, this version has actually aged better than most people expected. So today, I want to focus on one very specific thing. Why this version of Dracula worked, and why bringing him back would much make more sense than it did back in 2004. Let's begin!
