Jerry Lewis on Letterman, 1982, 1984

Jerry appeared on Late Night two times: October 5, 1982, and March 29, 1984. Here are both.
The promotional clip to the film he was promoting on the latter appearance, "Retenez Moi, Ou Je Fais Un Malheur," had been edited out due to copyright caution.

"One of my favorite memories with David Letterman would be the day of Jerry Lewis' first appearance. There were a few genuine Jerry fans among us and I think we were all a bit nervous about meeting him because of his reputation for being difficult. Well, I had a chance to talk with him a bit and he couldn't have been nicer or more generous. Yes, I'm sure luck was with me. But I get to keep that memory. Then he went on with Dave and all this happened. By the way, the Jerry Lewis records Dave holds up are mine and I still have them.

"During a break he asked [Segment Producer] Bob Morton, 'How far should I take this?' Bob said, 'All the way!'"
