Columbus Lab: 17 Years of ESA Innovation on the ISS!

The Columbus laboratory, ESA's largest contribution to the International Space Station (ISS), has been orbiting Earth since February 11, 2008. This 7-meter-long module supports over 250 experiments in fields like astrobiology, metallurgy, and human health. It enables research in microgravity, benefiting both space exploration and life on Earth. The lab’s experiments help advance human spaceflight and improve medical treatments, such as osteoporosis. The Columbus lab remains a vital hub for scientific discovery, with more astronauts and experiments planned for the future.
