Live From the Space Stage: A HALYX Story (Official Release Trailer)

“Live From the Space Stage: A HALYX Story,” a crowd funded documentary about the rock band HALYX will be premiering on the Defunctland YouTube channel August 20th. The film follows the rise and fall of the experimental rock band created by Disney Records in 1981 that performed for one summer at Disneyland’s “Space Stage.” The band featured a science fiction lineup that included a “Wookie” bass player, a lizard percussionist, and a robot keyboard player on a driveable spaceship.

The film features interviews from the band members as well as the people who produced the band, including record producer Mike Post and former Disney executive Gary Krisel. Filming for the interviews was conducted pre-COVID-19 in various locations across California as well as Las Vegas and Oklahoma City.

The film was produced by Kevin Perjurer of the Defunctland YouTube series and is the directorial debut for Matthew Serrano.
