Truth Commissions Lecture

A lecture designed for Masters students at the University of Huddersfield studying International Criminal Law. This lecture looks at the background and history of transitional justice, examines a range of modes of transitional justice before focusing on truth commissions.
There is in particular a consideration of the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission and thinks about the historical context, the foundation of the commission and some of the advantages and disadvantages of this process.
