Hayden Cutthroat Recovery

In 2016 a wildfire in the Hayden Creek draining of the Arkansas River basin wiped out a unique strain of Cutthroat Trout...but not before CPW successfully rescued about 150 fish. Those fish were reared in a special hatchery unit and their progeny are now being returned to the wild. Today, three years after the fire, a group of TU volunteers are assisting CPW as they return fingerlings to a new location in the Sangre de Cristo mountains.
