I appreciate Steve and his work, even though we do not agree on many matters.
1. The truly best not taking price into consideration AN-E Sootoo from Audio Note. THIS NEEDS BACK AND SIDE WALLS.
(price unknown)
2. Best value overall and performance on top level AN-E spe/he from Audio Note for only around 10k USD.
THIS NEEDS BACK AND SIDE WALLS.
3. Best value and performance and looks for top sound that is in the opposite direction Marten Bird 1 for about 25k USD new and about 8000k USD used. (the wife girlfriends looks pleaser, for people crazy about detail)
THIS NEEDS BACK AND SIDE WALLS. (not as close as the others)
4. One of the best entry speakers at a high level for the beginner giving crazy good value: Vandersteen 1ci used for about 500 bucks and about 1500 dollars new. (for small rooms)
THIS NEEDS BACK AND SIDE WALLS.
5. One of the best entry speakers at a high level for the beginner giving crazy good value: Vandersteen 2ce used for about 1000 bucks and about 2500 dollars new. (for medium rooms)
THIS NEEDS BACK AND SIDE WALLS.
6. One of the best entries for medium performance with crazy value JBL l100 classic for about 4000k USD. Normally around 6500 USD in europe.
THIS IS FAR BETTER THAN THE OLDER VERSION
(best for rooms that cannot have direct back and sidewalls support.
