NYO2 2022 rehearses Rachmaninoff’s Symphonic Dances, led by resident conductor Joseph Young.
The 81 members of this summer’s NYO2—extraordinary teen instrumentalists ages 14–17 from across the United States—come together for a training residency at Purchase College, SUNY, before returning to Miami Beach for their third annual summer residency with the New World Symphony. In preparation for its performance activities in the New York area and abroad, NYO2 will once again work with an impressive list of principal players from many of the nation’s top professional orchestras during its training residency. The program culminates in performances at Miami Beach’s New World Center and at Carnegie Hall.
