INSANE RAMEN EATING RECORD! | 20 Bowls of Ramen Eaten Solo! | Japanese Ramen Eating Challenge

For this video, we headed down to Tsuta Japanese Soba Noodles to attempt a new Ramen Eating Record! Tsuta is famously the first Michelin-starred ramen restaurant in the world, winning it for their signature Shoyu Soba Ramen in Japan. Some claim it is the best ramen in the world and that Tsuta Singapore has the best ramen in Singapore! This is why I chose Tsuta for my Ramen Eating Challenge. Capturing this record alongside me was a film crew from CNA, with their host, Rishi, as part of a segment for their new program.

Slightly unsure of myself at first, I opted to get the ramen 6 bowls by 6 bowls. I chose their Signature Michelin-starred Shoyu Soba Ramen, but with the addition of premium char siew with every bowl. Singaporeans such as myself tend to favour Tonkotsu-style Ramens over anything else, but this Shoyu ramen blew my expectations away.

The shoyu notes were noticeable and not overwhelmingly salty, while the inspired addition of fig compote served to cut through the saltiness and complement the rich flavours with its sweetness. The truffle oil further elevated the umami profile and added a unique dimension in a bowl that already had a lot going on in it. The noodles were exceptional as well, al dente and springy. They retained their structure even after sitting in the bowl for 20 minutes due to filming delays. The premium char siew was fattier and bigger than your usual ramen char siew, proving to be a much more flavourful bite.

I gave myself a 1-hour time limit to hit at least 15 bowls, doubting that I could hit 20. In the end, I pushed, with watching crowd helping greatly, to 20 bowls in 45 minutes, beating my previous 15-bowl record at Menbaka Ramen. I am thankful for the people at Tsuta for hosting me and for the fans and CNA crew present that helped me to push, especially towards the end, to 20 bowls.

Tsuta does not only serve Shoyu Soba Ramen, but various other kinds of ramen including Shio, Tonkatsu and Paitan, together with rice bowls and maki rolls. The prices are comparable to most other Ramen joints, with the Premium Shoyu Soba Ramen priced at $18.80. Do head down to Tsuta for a taste of the first Michelin-starred Ramen in the world!
