10 months of protests: On the student movement and the future of Serbia with Milica Kostin

Milica Kostin, a student at the faculty of political science and leader in the student movement in Serbia, discusses her involvement in demonstrations calling for accountability for a railway station collapse that killed 16 people in Novi Sad in November 2024. She talks about challenges and future goals for the movement with PulseZ in the newest podcast episode!

Milica also emphasizes the unity and determination of the movement in achieving a vision of Serbia where institutions serve citizens and elections are transparent. What started as a student movement is now recognized by the general public, which is more and more involved.

She talks about her daily life, blocking the university campus, police brutality at the protests in the streets and counter-protests. The biggest achievement so far has been raising awareness and promoting civic culture. 10 months into the massive street and university blockades we also discussed the plans for the one year anniversary of the tragedy in Novi Sad.

🎙️ Hosted by Tamara Kaňuchová
