The Allman Brothers Band - Live at S.U.N.Y. at Stony Brook, July 9 in 1970

The Allman Brothers Band playing live at The State University of New York at Stony Brook on the 9th of July in 1970.

The band played two nights in a row, on the 9th and the 10th. The soundboard recording of the July 10 show is more well known, although it is usually mislabled as being recorded on the 26th. Most sources say the correct date is the 10th however.

This show, from the night before, on the 9th of July 1970, is much less known, but equally incredible as far as the musical content goes. A gorgeous ‘’Dreams’’, ''Liz Reed'' (Duane's Liz solo is a thing of beauty) and a concize yet energetic ‘’Mountain Jam’’ are the highlights, although every tune in this short but wonderful set is up to the highest of standards imho.
