For over twenty-five years, I’ve been documenting Rob Dick and his partner Leonard Padilla. Together, they’ve worked to investigate the serial killers Wesley Shermantine and Loren Herzog—better known as the "Speed Freak Killers." Rob has been visiting Shermantine on Death Row to gather information about the locations of missing bodies. This is the second part of the stories we have done about the Speed Freak killers. The first episode is called "What's it like to investigate a serial killer?"

This was a an interesting episode to make, as I was able to mix in archival footage from my documentaries San Quentin Unlocked and Bounty Hunters. Both stories connect to Rob’s ongoing search for the truth and the remains of victims, shedding light on what really happened in Northern California between the early 1980s and 1990s.
