The story "Sringaaram" is about a Yakshi who falls in love with Bhattathiri, a young tantric who banishes her from someone's body. Despite being married, Bhattathiri also falls in love with the Yakshi's beauty. The two lovers decide to give up important aspects of themselves - Bhattathiri gives up a Holy Book that protected him and Yakshi gives up her instinct to harm and kill.

In the story "Hasyam," Goddess Parvathy decides to settle a debate between Lord Shiva regarding who is the better poet, Kalidasa or Bhavabhuti. She disguises herself as a grieving widow with a seemingly dead baby and asks the poets to complete a Sanskrit couplet to bring the baby back to life. Parvathy finds the situation amusing because she knows the baby was never actually dead.

The story of "Karunam" is about Panchami, a Pariah woman who gave birth to 12 babies while traveling with her husband Vararuchi on a pilgrimage in Kerala. However, she was not allowed to keep any of the babies. After going through another painful labor, Panchami begs her husband to let her keep the baby.

In the story "Raudram," Bhattathiri and his friend Namboothiri come across two Yakshis disguised as attractive women while on their way to watch Thrissur Pooram. They are enticed by the women's beauty and follow them, but soon discover that the women are actually Yakshis. One of the women transforms back into a Yakshi with fiery eyes and devours Namboothiri, while Bhattathiri is spared because he has a Holy Book with him.

In the chapter "Vattapparambil Valyamma" of "Veeram," the story revolves around an elderly woman named Vattapparambil Valyamma who was a trusted companion of the royal family. When a group of defectors plotted to attack the Queen, Valyamma bravely disguised herself as the Queen and fought the enemies with bravery and courage, successfully protecting the Queen.

"Bhayanakam": The story of "Arakkal Beevi" in the chapter "Arakkal Beevi". After playing in the river for a long time, Tumburutatti of Ezhimala Kovilakam decides to return home after taking a bath. Unfortunately for her she begins to drown. Her eyes fill with fear as she encounters her near-death experience.

In the story "Bheebhalsam" from the chapter "Nalekkattu Pillamaar," the wife of Yogeeshwaran Raman Pillai, Umayal Parvathi, loses her love and becomes indifferent after being enchanted by a Gandharvan. When Pillai tries to be intimate with her, she shows strong disgust towards him.
In the story "Athbudam," Agnihothri's wife was not happy about serving her husband's siblings during their annual memorial rites. However, when Agnihothri asked her to look at the guests again, she saw them as Lord Mahavishnu, which amazed her.
In the story "Shantham," a temple priest was falsely accused of stealing a nose ring from the Madurai Meenakshi deity. He was about to be sentenced by the King, but a divine figure led him to Kumaranalloor. The divine figure disappeared, and the priest later discovered that the presence guiding him was the goddess Kumaranalloor Bhagavathy, who had assumed the form of Madurai Meenakshi.
