Freight Train Stall on Porcupine Hill - Re Upload.

I've had requests over the years to re upload the original series of this into one video. During a recent hard drive clean up I found the files so decided to put them up as one. I've also included the scenes from earlier in the afternoon before the actual stall.

At the time El Zorro had just started to lease anything and everything they could get their hands on, including these loco's that had been preserved. Up until this point, they would run the occasional passenger special, but putting them back to work hauling revenue freight for the first time in about 10 + years, and also during summer, any mechanical issues became obvious fairly quickly. Failures in the early days of these operations were quite common.

Seymour Rail Heritage Centres S303-B74-T357-T378 on 9062 ELZ grain from Woorinen were already having over heating issues earlier in the afternoon going by the open engine room doors, and later on during the climb up the 1 in 57 ( 1 .75% ) Porcupine Hill, T378 decided it had finally had enough and shut down, leaving S303-B74-T357 to try and get the 28 loaded grain hoppers over the crest on their own.
Needless to say this caused quite a bit of disruption to the regular passenger services to/from Bendigo while this took place. Wed 23/12/09
