Pete the Cat and the Treasure Map - (Read Aloud)

Welcome to our YouTube Channel for teachers, parents and kids! Today's read aloud is "Pete the Cat and the Treasure Map" written by James Dean. This version of the book was published by HarperCollins in 2017.

After Pete finds a treasure map they embark on a treasure hunt. They meet a new crew member who helps along the way.

Have some fun with your kids learning about maps while using this book.

Lesson Plan Idea:
Go on a treasure hunt! Before reading the book, make a simple treasure map and hide a treasure, that leads to the hidden treasure. Next, read the book and have some fun as your child uses the map to find the hidden treasure. Finally, have some paper and markers on hand as the fun will not end for the child. After they have found the treasure they will want to create their own map, and bury the treasure for you or someone else to find.
