My Skin Color Depends On My Emotions | Animated Story about Chameleon Man

The fact is that I have quite an unusual skin. My body is a very strange mechanism because my skin color changes depending on my mood. I cannot hide any of my emotions, and today you will find out how I live with such a physiological feature.

But first some information for skeptics. Did you know that Ohio State University researchers have done a lot of work in identifying the connection between a person’s emotions and his or her face color? They learned that in addition to the blushing because of anger or shame, or becoming pale in fear, our face reacts to hundreds of other emotions, including such complex emotions as unexpected joy and inexplicable sadness.

Now we know that when we feel happy, the so-called “seal of happiness” appears on our face, namely the blood flow around the nose, eyebrows, forehead, and chin changes. And if you are disgusted, the skin colors around the lips change into yellow and blue, while the skin color on the forehead and around the nose changes into red and green.

“Nonsense” you would say. Eh, this is not nonsense, its science. And you can't argue with science, can you? In addition, it is very hard to see such changes with the naked eye, because even scientists were able to see them only using special highly sensitive equipment.

It turns out that the skin of each of you changes depending on your emotions, but this is rarely noticeable to others. But as for me, my skin reacts brightly to my mood changes. If I am ashamed, I turn completely red like a tomato; if I am happy, my skin color changes into yellow and orange, and if I am angry, I turn into Hulk instantly, because my skin changes color into bright green. Of course, I have much more color shades, these several colors were just an example.

When I was a kid, no one knew why my skin changed its color, so I was perceived as a clown. Perhaps I really looked like a baby clown for the other people. It was fun for them to watch me and touch my red and white cheeks, which gradually changed color into blue and green.

But when I went to school, my parents finally realized that my color could change because of the emotions and feelings. So they decided to use it for their own ends. That wasn't surprising at all. So from my first day at school, my parents started to ask me a lot of tricky questions and watched my skin. I don't need to tell you that there was absolutely no chance of lying or deceiving for me.

Just imagine our talks. “Johnson, have you done your homework?” “But I don’t have any homework today”. Of course, I lied. My skin changed its color into grey immediately and my parents saw this. That’s why I couldn’t lie about my truancies, bad grades, and everything else. My parents knew everything about me, and it was annoying. Besides, the truth was not always good.

Last year, my dad spent about 6 months preparing a stunning surprise for mom on their wedding anniversary. He bought a country house with a swimming pool and home cinema, which my mother had dreamed of for many years. Then just the icing on the cake remained. We had to decorate the house by the appointed date, and dad asked me to help him with this.
Of course, I agreed. During several days after school, I used to visit that house to help dad decorate it the best. Everything was going well, dad even paid for the services of two photographers, waiters, and a musician. He also invited relatives and friends of our family ...

There was only 1 day left before the event, but that day my mother suspected that something was wrong. In the evening she asked me where I was going after school. She was afraid that I was kind of on the wrong path. I understood that the trouble was in the air, so I tried to make up the best excuses. Along with this, the color of my body changed dozens of times and my mother understood that I was not just lying, but trying to hide something very important from her. Oh, she didn’t like it at all!
That's why she decided to make me tell her what I was doing after school these days at any cost. “I attended the library”. “Lies!”, mom said. “I go walking with my friends”. “Lies”. “I go to my dad’s work”. “You lie to me again!”. The situation was getting worse and I even asked my mother to call dad, but she said that I would not leave the table until I told her the truth..
