'I understand your worry' - Putin addresses mothers of Russian soldiers

Russian President Vladimir Putin has addressed "the mothers, wives, sisters, brides and girlfriends of our soldiers and officers", telling them they "can be proud of them".

Angry Russian mothers recently accused Putin of deploying their sons as "cannon fodder" in his invasion of Ukraine.

Sergey Tsivilev, governor of the Kuzbass region in Siberia, stood forlornly on a stage in a school gym as angry soldiers' mothers accused the Kremlin of lying.
