Popular money transfer app Venmo is getting in the check cashing game, just in time for the second round of stimulus checks.

With a new feature called "Cash a Check," Venmo aims to offer assistance for Americans receiving paper stimulus checks, allowing them to scan their direct payments on their phones and deposit them directly into their Venmo account.

Darrell Esch, the senior vice president of Venmo, explained: “We know that with health and safety top of mind for many, having a safe way to access stimulus payments is essential for many of our customers, especially those who are receiving paper checks and traditionally would have to visit a physical check-cashing location."

This is great news for Venmo users, as well as Americans that are receiving $600 paper stimulus checks, offering more ways to cash, save or spend your direct payment stimulus check.

Meanwhile, a new study from the National Retail Federation (NRF) found that retail spending is due to increase thanks to the $600 stimulus checks that began hitting bank accounts last week.

NRF chief economist Jack Kleinhenz explained: "we expect retail sales spending to see a boost from the new round of stimulus."

He also stated that: "prospects for volatility over the next few months are high, but these new [stimulus checks] come at a critical time that will help carry 2020’s momentum into 2021.”

That makes sense to me. You give us stimulus checks, we help to stimulate the economy.

Now if only you’d give us more disaster relief funds so that we can continue providing much needed life back into the US economy.

Finally, with the eyes of America focused on today’s Georgia Senate election run-off, I thought it would be interesting to see which candidates are in support of more disaster relief funds, specifically those $2,000 stimulus checks.

As y’all know, we hate both sides of the aisle on this channel.

All I care about is what are you doing to help the millions of Americans struggling financially with some much needed stimulus funds.

President Elect Joe Biden made some encouraging comments about more stimulus checks if the Democrats are voted into the Senate, stating yesterday: “If you send Jon and the reverend to Washington, those $2,000 checks are going out the door, restoring hope and decency and honor to so many people struggling right now.”

Comparatively, we know that the reigning GOP Senators are not in favor of $2,000 stimulus checks, as they have not made any efforts to break from the views of Mitch McConnell and other leading Republicans that oppose the direct payments.
