Cherito fue reconocido como uno de los más altos representantes de la música dominicana.
Cherito tuvo un rol protagónico en la legendaria orquesta The New York Band desde el año 1988 hasta el 1996, como cantante líder, compositor y co-productor de los éxitos musicales más destacados de la banda. Entre sus aportes están los temas "Si tu no estás", "Nadie como tú", "Dancing mood" y "Dame vida".
En 1996, Cherito (bajo el nombre de CHERY X) produce su primer álbum como solista y alcanza los primeros lugares de popularidad en Estados Unidos, Puerto Rico y Sur America con el súper éxito en el género salsa "Que Tentación".
Desde 1998 hasta 2007, Cherito se ausenta de los escenarios y se consagra como compositor, productor y arreglista, dedicandose exclusivamente a producir música para grandes luminarias, tales como Celia Cruz, Wilfrido Vargas, Olga Tañón, entre otros grandes artistas.
En 2007, Cherito regresa a los escenarios y se convierte en uno de los proyectos artísticos más exitosos de los últimos tiempos en la República Dominicana, obteniendo 3 nominaciones en los Premios Casandra - el más importante galardón de la República Dominicana y el Caribe.
Actualmente, Cherito está trabajando en la realización de su más reciente álbum. El primer corte de esta producción es "Cara Bonita" con la participation especial de El Cata, en la onda ElectroLatino.

From 1998 until 2007, Cherito stays away from the stages and devotes itself like composer, producer and arreglista, devoting itself to produce exclusively music for big lights, such as Celia Cruz, Wilfrido Vargas, Olga Tañón, between other big artists.
In 2007, Cherito returns to the stages and turns into one of the most successful artistic projects of last times in the Dominican Republic, obtaining 3 nominations in the Awards Casandra - the most important award of the Dominican Republic and the Caribbean Sea.
At present, Cherito is employed at the achievement of its most recent album. The first cut of this production is "Cara Bonita" with the special participation of The Tasting, in the wave ElectroLatino.
