Amelie Gubitz on NIH’s investment in ALS research
Dr. Amelie Gubitz is a Program Director in the Division of Neuroscience at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), which is part of the National Institutes of Health. At NINDS, she oversees a research grant program focused on amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and other rare neuromuscular diseases. Dr. Gubitz earned a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Cambridge, UK, and performed her postdoctoral training at Harvard Medical School and the University of Pennsylvania. She has also worked as a Senior Scientist in a target discovery group for neuropathic pain at a biotech company in the UK, and as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania where she studied spinal muscular atrophy.
