5 More of The Largest Freshwater Fish In The World Part 6

In this video I will be going through 5 of the largest freshwater fish in the world. There are many giant freshwater fish in the worlds rivers and lakes but what fish is the biggest freshwater fish in the world? This is actually a very hard question to answer as monster fish come in many different shapes and sizes and two fish from the same species can vary in size drastically from one another.

So in this video I will be going through 5 river monsters that are thought to be the largest freshwater fish in the world. I will be including the flathead catfish, the king salmon, the Atlantic tarpon, the grass carp and the electric eel in this episode.

The first giant fish on the list the flat head catfish. The flathead catfish is one of the largest catfish in north America only second to the blue catfish that i have already featured on this channel. The flathead catfish is an ambush predator and is capable of swallowing many large fish species.

For our second monster fish we will be moving over to the coastal waters of the Atlantic ocean as we have the Atlantic tarpon. The Atlantic tarpon isn't a true freshwater fish but does spend a portion of time in freshwater rivers. the tarpon is a agile streamlined predator and is known to jump out of the water to catch it's prey.

For our next large fish we will move to the freshwater rivers of Asia and north America as we have the king salmon. The king salmon is also known as the chinook salmon and is the largest species of pacific salmon. This species has to escape many natural predators such as killer whales bears and sharks.

For the next monster fish we will move over to south America as we have the electric eel. The electric eel is actually a member of the knifefish family and uses it's electrical powers to both navigate it's environment and find its prey. This monster fish can be a threat to humans but attacks are very rare.

For our final river monster we will be heading over to the freshwaters of south east Asia as we have the grass carp. Although the grass carp is originally from Asia it has now been introduced into many other countries. The grass carp were introduced because they are very good at controlling aquatic weeds and plants.
