How To Remove Artists from Spotify Library

If you're trying to stop a specific artist from playing on Spotify, the platform doesn't allow you to remove artists entirely, but it does offer a feature that lets you block them from appearing in your listening experience. This is especially useful if there are certain artists you don't want to hear in playlists, radio stations, or auto-generated recommendations.

To restrict an artist, open the Spotify app on your mobile device and navigate to the artist’s profile. Tap the three-dot menu in the upper right corner of their profile page. In the menu that appears, select the option labeled "Don't play this artist." Once this is enabled, Spotify will stop including that artist’s music in Discover Weekly, Release Radar, daily mixes, radio stations, and other personalized recommendations.

It's important to note that this setting only works on mobile devices and may not be available on all versions of the desktop app. Also, while Spotify won’t play music from the blocked artist, their content may still appear visually in search results or collaborations with other artists.

This block feature doesn't permanently delete the artist from Spotify’s library—it simply prevents them from playing in your account's audio feed unless you manually visit their profile and play a track. If you change your mind later, you can go back to the same menu and tap "Allow to play this artist" to undo the restriction.
